A choreographic philosophy by Sagí Amir Gross

The team of Scripting Dance - a Physical Script includes:

PhD candidate dance researcher Derrick Brown (Amsterdam, Bern).

''Through my life and as part of my creative process, I am challenged to express individual and personal stories. I feel that it is important to communicate through my artistic processes and creations, searching for an exposed fragility and pure authenticity together with the audience and my collaborators. As an artist, who grew up in Tel aviv, has lived half of his life in Amsterdam and travels around the world in order to create, I am always trying to observe. I take inspiration from extreme experiences of my own life, next to simple, pure random, beautiful moments. Connecting with people is the essence of my work; telling stories of individuals on stage or in film, between the abstract and the narrative. The research is about authenticity and intuition, which are important components for me as a choreographer, director and most importantly as a human being.''
Sagí Amir Gross

The project will be realised with the kind support of Amsterdam fonds voor de kunst (Amsterdam foundation for the arts), Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds (The Dutch Prince Bernhard cultural foundation) and foundation Diorapthe.
Thank you as well Marc Jonkers, Nehemia Aipassa and Ronald van Hoolwerff of GDC - GrossDanceCompany foundation for the support. Further details and information will be exposed in the near future. Stay tuned!
