Changing the Conversation in Conflict - a workshop with artist and conflict mediator Dana Caspersen
Conflict is both useful & inevitable. Destructive conflict is neither
Award-winning dance artist and conflict mediator Dana Caspersen has been a primary collaborator of choreographer William Forsythe in the Ballet Frankfurt and The Forsythe Company for the last 25 years. Since completing a masters degree in Conflict Studies and Mediation she has developed and offered conflict workshops and public dialogue projects internationally.
In this 2-day workshop, Caspersen offers a practice for effectively engaging conflict. The goal of the practice is not to prevent conflict, but to transform how it is expressed. The workshop offers practical ways to develop your capacity to:
- Recognise and change your conflict habits
- Find good solutions even when it seems unlikely
- Transform conflicts and relationships from the inside
You can’t change what other people do in a conflict. You can change what you do. By choosing different actions and approaches you can fundamentally and positively affect conflicts at work, at home and out in the world. The ability to engage conflict effectively is a matter of practice, anyone who wants to develop this capacity can do so.
When: Saturday, June. 21st , and Sunday, June. 22th.
Where: Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
Cost: 150 Euros.
