'Physical script':
Sagí Gross named his choreographic method Physical Script, as he likes to think about his dancers more as moving actors who use their bodies to produce "physical expressive words", instead of "movements.” He seeks to create meaning to every moment and movement and to articulate its meaning, within the context of the material provided by this physical language. He is attracted to the sense of present of being in the 'here and now'.
Gross: “Even if we rehearse and repeat the same physical moments and movements, I always want the dancers to follow the sensation that they are experiencing each moment for the first time; just like when actors receive a text, they won’t just repeat the given lines, but would try to reach with it into their soul and individual awareness, in order to create for themselves a very specific momentum of presence. This gives a surprisingly different intuitive human quality which may connect universally for different moments during the creation and performances. It is challenging me as a spectator and gives space to question different moments constantly."
