GrossDanceCompany based in Amsterdam, was founded in 2012 by creative duo, choreographer Sagi Gross and theater director -multidisciplinary artist Jeroen Fransen. GDC brings together dancers from International companies. This assembly of artistic nomads bring meaning and substance to the companies quest of unveiling essential connections between the individual and its environment, be that cultural, spatial, or metaphysical. The choreographical work uses a high voltage physicality which exposes the interest in gesture to examine the performers acceptance or resistance in various encounters. By basing his work on personal themes, Gross tries to escape the banalities and generalizations often used by the media and in public debate surrounding the subject. The identity of the work is forged through a combination of the choreographer's inherent visual logic and the inclusion of outside influences. The company performed internationally in South Korea, Belgium, The Netherlands, Switzerland, Germany, England, USA, Australia, Austria, France and Israel.
